ASRT crew finish the "Lõuna-Eesti" rally

Last weekend, the "Lõuna-Eesti" rally, which was the fifth stage of the Estonian and Latvian rally championship, took place in Southern Estonia. 100 crews crossed the starting line, including two ASRT crews – Pjotrs Turkins/Vasīlijs Mirkotans and Dmitrijs Feofanovs/Andrejs Galkēvičs.

Both ASRT crews were able to reach the finish line in this hard and difficult rally – Feofanov took the 37th place in total and sixth in the EMV3 class, and Turkins finished 32nd in total and third in the EMV5 class.

"The rally was hard. First of all, because I had a new co-driver. Secondly, the roads were not easy. Prior to the rally, I had almost never had the opportunity to drive on roads like that. Unfortunately, our car had small technical problems at the beginning of the second day. After this technical difficulty, there was no point chasing after the result, because we were too far behind. Of course, we wanted to drive better and faster, but this time, the circumstances were what they were. I can generally say that the roads are difficult, but very interesting. If we can get used to them, driving on roads like that will bring great satisfaction in the future. I would like to drive roads like that more and learn to do such legs faster," says Dmitrijs Feofanovs, who is holding third place in the EMV3 class at the Estonian rally championship before the Saaremaa rally.

"I liked the rally in general, especially the roads, which were very interesting. They were possibly also the most difficult roads out of all the rallies we’d ever participated in," says Pjotrs Turkins.

The new leader of the ASRT crew Artūrs Igaveņš was happy with the work of the team. "I’m very pleased with the work of the team at the "Lõuna-Eesti" rally. I’m very happy for both crews, who managed to reach the finish line on the difficult Estonian roads. I believe that such experience will be useful to them in the future and it will help them be even faster in future rallies. Now we’re going to prepare for the Liepāja ERC rally, which we’re planning to take part in with two crews," says head of the ASRT team Artūrs Igaveņš.
