Baltic leading rally team ASRT concluded  contract  with Volkswagen Motorsport GmbH for order two Sports Polo GTI R5 purchase, what becomes the biggest Volkswagen sports car deal in the Baltics. ...what allows to 1.23 tons heavy  car develop 200 kW (272 horsepower) and 400 Nm torque, just in 4,1 sec., reaching acceleration until 100 km/h. New cars will be delivered to team in this year’s time, and first Rally race is planned already in 2020.

In 2019 team is planning tests for drivers, training for mechanics, to be sure they can take part in local Baltics and Europa’s championships in 2020 and are able to fight for champion titles.

Polo GTI R5, what had a debut at race track before more than year, is made with accordance to highest World’s rally championship standards and requirements, what is set by FIA. Because Worlds rally championship cars output is strictly limited then manufacturersare  focusing on aerodynamic, control, suspension and development of another equipments.

Polo GTI R5 racing mechanism is equiped with four cylinder turbocompressor and direct fuel spraying.  According to the rules made by Worlds Rally championship engine volume is 1600 cm³, it makes 200 kW power, what is passed to four wheel-drive with five grade manual gearbox.

Car could reach 100km/h just in 4,1 seconds, and it’s max speed is around 200 km/h. Four door steel body is fortified according to FIA, as well with additional safety parts. Polo GTI R5 length is 4067 mm, width is 1942 mm, and height is 1372 mm and wheel base lenght is 2540 mm.
