Emīls Blūms joins the ASRT Rally Team
During the Latvian Rally Championship Season 2015 Emīls Blūms won third place in LRC3 class. After the season Emīls who’s been only rallying with Ford Fiesta R2 and Honda Civic so far, decided to try out his luck with another R2 class car. After a number of meetings, Blūms was able to reach an agreement with the ASRT rally team.
"After the season 2015 I wanted to try out the top front-wheel drive car Peugeot 208 R2. So I contacted the ASRT rally team and we were able to reach an agreement thanks to my supporters and understanding of the ASRT team," reflects Emīls Blūms.
"For now we have an agreement with regards to Sarma Rally and Liepaja round of the ERC but simultaneously we will be working on getting more support so we would be able work together for the rest of the season. Considering the fact that this season I have a new steersman, as well as the fact that I will be driving a new car in Sarma Rally, it’s possible that we will not have the highest results yet of course we will be driving fast and we will be competing for the highest places. I will continue my collaboration with Coach Uldis Briedis, therefore I hope we will be able to come up with the right formula for the maximum speed. I will still have to get used to the new steersman – we still have a couple of things to work on. Yet I believe everything should be fine and I hope to have a successful season together with the ASRT team that is experienced and strong," says Emīls.
"Emīls was looking for a car for the new season. We gave our offer and were able to reach an agreement. For now we have a deal for the two winter rounds yet I hope that everything will work out fine and we will continue working together even after that. The car is new and fast – this has been proved by the previous pilot; that’s why we hope that one of the fastest drivers in the front-wheel drive class in Latvia will be able to drive fast and fight for the top awards," says the ASRT team’s manager Mārcis Ķenavs.
