Plangi and Volver provides a double win for ASRT rally team at Estonian Championship’s absolute cup.

In previous holidays on island of Saaremaa ended the Estonian rally championship. In this beatfiul, but also difficult rally around 150 crews went to the start, among which were also four team ASRT crews.

At the first day after first three stages of the rally leader was Plangi, Egon Kaur who lost 11.1 seconds was second. Karl Martin Volver was at high 14th place absolutely.

On the second day Plangi continued to be fast until at one of the stages his car got a small technical defect. Although the defect had been corrected in Service Park, pilot received a 30 second penalty for the delay at time control. Although Plangi tried to recover lost time, but he could not regain the lost time and had to settle for third place in both absolute and N4 class.

"The beginning was good, because we were first to start and it gave us the advantage, while others struggled with dust. Then we decided that at the second day of the race we will be going first, but this time it was a mistake, because it was the wind, which quickly broke up the dust. Also, we had a minor technical problems and thats why we came little late for time control, which got us a 30 second penalty," said Siim Plangi.

"In general, my pace was good, although, being first at the track, the time was not as fast as they would like to, because the track was slippery. The last special stage was good because we had a good rhythm and I drove without errors. Overall, this was a good, but difficult rally, although in my view there are better rally roads. Currently, I yet know nothing about next season, but soon I will speak with ASRT team management about plans for the future," concludes Plangi.

Volver gave in a very successful rally, who in its EMV4 2WD test class was the fastest in all ten special stages, which resulted an overwhelming victory. The fourth in this class remained another ASRT teams pilot Petr Turkins for who after half a year long break this was the first gravel rally. As acknowledged by ASRT team, this is a good result for athlete, and most importantly, the ability to reach the finish in such a complex and devious rally that many were not able to do.

"The rally was very good - good special stages and accurate Transcript. I am happy with my speed, same way as I drove in the Tartu rally - carefully and without risk. Now we still have left a rally in Latvia and then I will start thinking about next year. We plan to extract some of the European Rally Championship stages. To do this, will have to work hard to attract sponsors," says Karl Martin Volver.

Seventh place in the N4 class was won by Dmitry Feofanovs who is very happy with this rally. "Great race. Each time the rally feel is different. The rally for me every year is like an exam, so at this stage I appreciate my progress. From the beginning it seemed that everything is bad, but in the end we drove well, showing considerable progress. Speed has clearly increased. Now we still have left Rally Latvia and then I will start preparing for the next season, where the aim will be the fight for trophies," says Feofanovs.

Thanks to Plangi’s third place absolutely and Volver’s ninth place absolutely and first in its class, both riders took the first two places in Estonian Rally Championship absolute standings! In their test classes both Plangi and Volver were the fastest drivers this year in Estonia!
